Why Roland FA 07 Is All In One Music Workstation

Roland FA 07 Review : My luck sometime brings me some unexpected turns and twist and this time I was lucky enough to use FA 07 Music Workstation as soon as it launched (2017) for 46 days.

This is the best part of my business to review musical instruments and trust me it also worst part of my business.

Its bad because I genuinely fall in love with every keyboard I get, but at last I don't keep all of them. Any way lets begin what I felt for FA 07.

FA-07 brings you everything that the preceding FA-06 and the FA 08 brought you, but also new sounds with a brand new key action that plays beautifully.

There are three different versions of the FA- series.

You have the 61-note (FA-06),

the 88-note (FA-08) which is a weighted action

but now with this one it’s 76, so it has the semi weighted hammer action keys.

This expands the keyboard, so you really have to stretch out, which is really gratifying.

The keyboard is re imagined music workstation designed to escalate your creative flow.

The keyboard is for multiple uses such as organ, synth, piano, guitar sounds etc. you will just be in awe of the screen, user interface and overall look of the board.

The intuitive FA series is versatile in design to furnish users with eloquent expressive freedom in any musical environment.

It offers enhanced playing feel and is a jack of all trades.

Now moving on next to sound performance of the Roland FA-07.

It all kick starts off with the sounds — a collection of over 2,000 sounds taken from the flagship INTEGRA-7 sound module including the complete SUPERNATURAL synth engine and acoustic tones and drums.

You can even expand the on board sound set with free wave sound expansion collections, which is also there at the axial site. Lastly, I would say the FA-07 sounds fantastic, as Roland’s sound fits my purposes excellently.

16 Track Sequencer

The FA series’ intuitive 16- track sequencer has been designed to enable you to encapsulate your inspiration as it happens.

In a nick of time, you can build an entire arrangement with the instrument’s massive array of sounds. With un-interrupted recording in loop mode, you’re able to fill up all 16 tracks without stopping.

Along with it, step recording enables you to edit and mix your tracks and save songs as stereo audio files to an SDHC card.

My Experience With Roland FA 07 Workstation

Roland FA 07 complete view

As I said earlier that I used FA 07 for around 46 days and the overall experience might be summed as "Good".

Their are few disadvantages too. SO lets give a look at them.

Reasons To Buy

  • Powerful real-time performance options such as D-beam modulation, arpeggiation, looping and step sequencing make playing enjoyable and exciting.
  • check-circle
Provides with the best feeling pads and the easiest to use control layout possible.
  • check-circle
There’s a complete integration being a stage keyboard and also working with your DAW.

Reasons To Avoid

  • More expansion slots would have been great.
  • No volume control for samplers.

I would undoubtedly recommend the Roland FA-07 for any musician who needs a mid range great sounding workstation keyboard.

It does offer most of the feature you expect from an workstation but their is still some room for improvement. It sounds are great and might be a good option to consider if you are totally into musical stuff and knows what you are doing.
