Casio CTX 5000 Review

Why Casio CT-X5000 Is A Decent Budget Stage Piano

Casio CT X5000 Review :  It is the flagship model of the Casio CT X line of keyboard and delivers a rich and impressive feel without compromising on the features.

This keyboard from Casio is a 61-key keyboard that’s velocity sensitive synth action keys.

It’s got 800 tones, 260 rhythm tracks (all of the tones and rhythms are editable), has a mic input, DSP effects, USB compatibility, WAV compatibility, a lot of cool features I m going to enlist right now.

Sound quality of CT X5000 is quite good which is not quite common in keyboard in this price range. The sounds are so impressive because they are sampled from 9 foot concert grand piano in a virtual concert hall.

It is loaded with all the features a budding or intermediate level pianist seeks for so without further a do lets begin the detailed analysis of Casio CT X5000.

Casio CT-X5000 Specs and Features

Accompaniment Patterns

One of the main features of this keyboard is to use the accompaniment patterns, you can use the rhythm tracks to create your own rhythm section, your own arrangement for a song and you can let the drums fill in real time.

You can change from different grooves and there is all kind of settings you can do.

It also lets you to control the dynamics of your performance in real time.

Another way to do this task is by using the phrase pad which already comes with some pre-programmed phrases, different musical phrases like a guitar lick or a fill, but you can record your own.

The phrase pad controls your performance and it’s really cool and add different layers and complexity to your song.

Sound, Tone and Rhythm Of CT X5000

The CTX- 5000 has a huge range of styles in both the tone and rhythm categories ranging from piano and organ to guitar, string pads, synth pads.

In the rhythm section there is also pop rock, Latin country, a huge range of styles.

There is a huge range of sounds that will get you through a lot of styles of music. As I said earlier the sound is really admirable.

The AiR sound engine also enhance the quality of the sound upto a great extent. I personally liked the sound quality a lot.

The Button Layout

Buttons Of Ct X5000

Let’s talk about the button layout that’s there on the Casio keyboard. We have the tone section through which you can change the categories of different sounds which you can also do with the category button if you want to skip ahead, it does the similar thing.

There is also a group select, so the top line is piano organ guitar that is group A but if you want to select the bottom group which is group B, you push group select and you can do that same thing with the rhythm section, by either selecting rhythms in the ‘A’ section or in the ‘B’ section, power and volume knob, rhythm controller and song controller buttons.

You can turn the accompaniment pattern on, you have sync start and stop if you want it to start when you play.

When you first touch the keyboard, the rhythm will start then you have the screen and the category to get through the different tones, tone to get to the tone selection, rhythm to get to your drum tracks

Song Bank and Recording

CT X5000 comes with some pre-recorded songs already in it.

You can record your own sounds too and there is a lot of open space for you to create your own arrangements and record them.

Record stop which is used for various functions like if you want to record a song or you want to record your own ideas, musical ideas for the phrase pads you can use that button.

There is a song bank which allows you to access the pre-recorded songs that are already on there and also add your own.

Then there is the registration section which is where you can go from pre-set sounds that you have saved.

The wheel present on the keyboard allows you to cycle through the different songs and different rhythms.

Then the numeric keypad has many functions where you can exit in out of menus.

And there is different buttons like enter and delete which allows you to navigate things that are in the function section which is how you do stuff like record the phrase pad or you can add DSP effects or you can make adjustments to the part mixer.

This may sound complicated but In short you need to press the respective category button and you are good to go from there.
